How we executed the project

Going in, we understood the scale of what we were attaching ourselves to. The V&A Waterfront generates over R140 million in profit a month and 25 million visitors a year, driven largely by the tenants who give the precinct its identity. The Neighbourhood Awards exist to recognise that contribution, and working alongside the V&A marketing team, we made the call early that the platform needed to do more than celebrate for one night. We decided to treat the Awards as the start of a content ecosystem instead of a standalone event, which changed what we planned to capture from the outset.
We covered the full event on the night, then went further than a standard recap. We built a narrative film for every single category winner, not just the headline winners, plus a highlight film, a testimonial montage, and event photography across the whole night.
We handed every winner and the V&A itself a complete asset pack, built for both to deploy across their own channels heading into festive season. That was the whole point of building it as an ecosystem from the start. Recognition became content, and content became something the winners could actually use to drive footfall and sales, not just a keepsake of the night they won.
