Zeitz MOCAA 100 Year Centenary Celebration

We had already worked with Zeitz MOCAA before this moment, which gave us a real understanding of how the museum moves, what it stands for, and the standard of execution it requires. Zeitz MOCAA is not a museum that needs an introduction. Housed in the iconic grain silos on the Cape Town waterfront, it holds the largest collection of contemporary art from Africa and its Diaspora anywhere in the world. When the institution marked 100 years of those silos, the celebration carried real cultural weight, and we knew the brief demanded documentation that could honour that properly. So we deliberately reframed the job from covering an event into building a complete archive, bringing history, art, and architecture together through the day's public programme.

We documented the full day: cultural performances, guided tours, art workshops, face painting, the outdoor food offerings from Makers Landing, and a Silo Concert featuring Mandisi Dyantyis that drew a crowd of over 2,000 people on its own.

We turned the content around fast enough to make it immediately useful, and the museum used it afterward for their own marketing and communications. The day itself drew more than 5,100 adults and over 600 children, the largest footfall since the museum opened in 2017.
