Documenting a 100 year milestone at one of Africa’s most important cultural institutions
The Zeitz MOCAA is not a museum that needs an introduction. Housed in the iconic grain silos on the Cape Town waterfront, it holds the largest collection of contemporary art from Africa and its Diaspora anywhere in the world. When the institution marked 100 years of the historical grain silos, the celebration carried real cultural weight and the brief demanded documentation that could honour that significance properly.
The day was packed with cultural performances, guided tours, art workshops, face painting, food from Makers Landing and a Silo Concert with Mandisi Dyantyis that pulled a crowd of over 2,000. In total, more than 5,100 adults and 600 children came through, the museum's largest footfall since it opened in 2017.
Esther Henderson, Communications Manager at Zeitz MOCAA, called the day an important moment for the museum and pointed to the professionalism of the Love Yourss team, the quality of the work, how seamlessly we integrated with her department and other service providers, and the swift turnaround that made the content immediately useful.
The content was further used for marketing and communications, and true to Zeitz MOCAA's vision of access for all.
