Ceremony
South Africa

The infrastructure was built before the moment arrived.

Ceremony had the product, the philosophy, and a physical Matcha Bar opening in Sea Point. We built the infrastructure around the launch, growing reach from 5.3K to 137.2K in two months, generating 1.5M views, increasing engagement by 201%, and supporting six months of paid media, email campaigns, and product launches.

How we executed the project

Ceremony was built around slowness, ritual, and intentional living. The product was exceptional, but the digital presence did not yet reflect the ambition of the brand. The Matcha Bar opening was more than a launch date. It was the first major opportunity to introduce Ceremony to a wider audience and shape how people would experience the brand from day one. So instead of treating it as a short-term campaign, we built the foundations of a system designed to attract, educate, convert, and bring customers back. We identified the gap between the quality of Ceremony’s product and the strength of its digital presence. The brand needed more than beautiful content. It needed a way to make matcha feel approachable, communicate why the product was worth paying more for, and connect the physical Matcha Bar to an ongoing online customer journey. The opportunity was to turn Ceremony from a product people discovered into a ritual they could understand, experience, and repeat.
We built the strategy around a repeat-purchase engine: Ritual. Proof. Recipe. Shop. Community. Repeat. Ritual created the emotional reason to return. Proof made the quality and premium positioning credible. Recipe removed the intimidation around preparing matcha at home. Shop made it easier to choose the right product. Community gave the brand a physical anchor through the Matcha Bar. Together, these elements created a customer journey that could move someone from first discovery to first purchase, then from first purchase to habit.
We produced the campaign film that introduced Ceremony’s world before many people had ever tasted the product. Around that anchor, we built a content ecosystem including paid advertising, giveaways, product education, community-first messaging, and the Ritual Series. The Ritual Series made matcha easier to understand through practical episodes covering the tools, preparation, common mistakes, and Ceremony’s signature recipes. Each episode was designed to become multiple pieces of content across Reels, carousels, infographics, and Stories. We also built campaigns around the customer’s desired identity, not just product features. Ceremony was not only selling high-grade matcha or clean energy. It was selling the feeling of becoming someone who starts their day with greater intention.
We ran paid media for six months, supported the launch of Ceremony’s single-estate matcha through a pre-order campaign, and built the email strategy around the release. Ceremony moved from having a strong product with limited digital reach to having a functioning brand and acquisition system. The Matcha Bar became more than a physical location. It became the centre of a wider customer journey, supported by content, paid media, email, education, and community. We did not just help Ceremony launch. We built the infrastructure that allowed the launch to keep working.
